June Bloom Book Club: Disclosure

This month, we’re taking a bit of a departure and instead of discussing a book, we will be discussing a documentary. Disclosure (available on Netflix) is an unprecedented, eye-opening look at transgender depictions in film and television, revealing how Hollywood simultaneously reflects and manufactures our deepest anxieties about gender. This important documentary shows audiences that decades-old stereotypes, memes, and tropes in the media both form and reflect our understanding of trans issues. They have shaped the cultural narrative about transgender people, and inform everything from dating and domestic violence, to school policy and national legislation.

Join us for a discussion on Disclosure, guided by Vinciane, DEI Advisory Lead at Bloom.

This session will be held on Wednesday, June 21 from 12pm–1:00pm ET. Registration is $10 + tax.
